CONWAY, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken
women's cross country team opened its 2012 spring track
campaign this past weekend at the CCU/Shamrock Invitational at Doug
Shaw Memorial Stadium.
The three-day event hosted by Coastal Carolina was held
Thursday, Mar. 15-Saturday, Mar. 17.
USC Aiken competed in a variety of events over the course of the
CCU/Shamrock Invitational. All of the Pacer events came on either
Friday, Mar. 16 or Saturday, Mar. 17.
Two-time All-Peach Belt Conference performer Keely Gillespie
(Belvedere, S.C./North Augusta) finished 20th in the
women's 3000-meter run with a time of 10:12.00.
Brittany May (Augusta, Ga./Greenbrier) and Alexis Harvin (Las
Animas, Colo./Las Animas) both finished in the top 61 in the
400-meter hurdles.
The tandem of Harvin, Hodge, Cassey Lloyd (Lexington, S.C./White
Knoll) and May finished 32nd in the 4x400-meter
relay.
USC Aiken will next compete in the Weems Baskin Invitational in
Columbia, S.C. on Saturday, Mar. 24. The event is being hosted
by South Carolina.
