DUE WEST, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team fell 6-3 to Erskine on Wednesday afternoon at the EC Tennis Complex.
Erskine (6-2) opened things on Wednesday by claiming two of the three doubles matches.
The only Pacer win in doubles came in at No. 2 with the tandem of Margot Simon and Manon Hermens downing Erskine's Corin Hallman and Victoria Stephens, 9-8 (17-15).
Franziska Regel (Hamburg, Germany/Gymnasium Farmsen) and Hermens (Bordeaux, France/Universitè de Bordeaux) claimed USC Aiken's two points in singles.
Regel earned a 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-3) win over Erskine's Tessa Rheault at No. 2 singles.
Hermens acquired a 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-7) win over Erskine's Mika Goyette at No. 4 singles.
USC Aiken will next open Peach Belt Conference play with a 2:30 p.m. match against UNC Pembroke in Pembroke, N.C. on Thursday, Feb. 23.
