Pacers Tie PBC Foe Flagler on Wednesday Evening

Box Score

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team picked up a 1-1 double overtime tie with Flagler in Peach Belt Conference women's soccer action on Wednesday evening at Saints Field.

The tie with Flagler (7-2-2, 2-2-1 PBC) left the Pacers with a 3-2-1 record in Peach Belt Conference play in the 2012 season. The Pacers are now 4-6-2 overall.

The two teams entered the halftime break with the game still scoreless at 0-0.

The Pacers wasted no time arriving on the scoreboard in the second half, scoring just 2:37 into the half.

The USC Aiken goal materialized when Alex Cohen (Evans, Ga./Greenbrier HS) lifted a cross into the Flagler box. Cohen's deft cross was then volleyed just inside the near post into the back of the net by Heaven Tylee (Manassas, Va./Osbourne Park HS).

The score would remain 1-0 in favor of the Pacers until the 81st-minute when Flagler's Lindsay Zullo converted a penalty kick to even the contest at 1-1.

Neither team would be able to find the back of the net in the final nine minutes of regulation and in the two overtime periods.

USC Aiken ended the match owning a 12-11 shot advantage. Both teams had six corner kicks in the contest.

USC Aiken will next close out its week with a 1:30 p.m. non-conference road game against Coker on Saturday, Oct. 6.
