College of Charleston Exhibition Game Notes - Click Link to Access
CHARLESTON, S.C. - The University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball team hits the road this week for an exhibition against the College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C. on Saturday, Nov. 3.
USC Aiken and College of Charleston will take to the court against one another at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3 at TD Arena.
Tickets for the USC Aiken-College of Charleston exhibition are $5. Tickets go on sale Thursday, Nov. 1.
The exhibition contest on Nov. 3 will mark the second time in the last four years that the two have faced off against one another in a preseason contest. In November of 2009, College of Charleston narrowly escaped the Pacers in a 94-92 overtime victory at TD Arena.
The exhibition game against College of Charleston matches up two of the winningest programs in the Palmetto State over the course of the last five years. The Pacers' 110 victories over the last five seasons ties them with College of Charleston and Benedict for the most wins at any collegiate level in the state of South Carolina over the five-year span.
College of Charleston closed out last year with a 19-12 overall record. Under the direction of first-year head coach Doug Wojcik in the 2012-13 season, the Cougars were tabbed to finish second in the Southern Conference South Division by both the league's head coaches and media.
The Pacers had one of the best seasons in school history in their 2011-12 campaign.
The Peach Belt Conference regular-season champions with a league mark of 14-4, USC Aiken made its fourth trip to the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament in the last five years in the 2011-12 season.
USC Aiken was ranked nationally for much of the 2011-12 season. The Pacers were never ranked lower than third in the Southeast Region rankings. In fact, USC Aiken closed the regular season as No. 1 in the region rankings. USC Aiken would eventually earn the No. 2 seed in the Southeast Regional contested at Montevallo.
