Pacers Close Season With Loss to North Georgia

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team closed out its 2012 season with a 3-0 Peach Belt Conference loss to North Georgia at the North Georgia Soccer Field.

Regionally-ranked North Georgia (13-3-2, 6-3-2 PBC) scored the first goal of the match just over two minutes into the game. Cicely Taliaferro scored the goal for North Georgia. She was assisted by Leanne South.

The goal would be the lone goal of the first half.

North Georgia would net its second goal of the match in the 49th-minute when Melanie Thompson scored off an assist from Taylor Lee.

Kayla Croom scored North Georgia's final goal of the match in the 76th-minute. She was assisted by Sophia Matonak.

North Georgia owned a 26-4 shot advantage in the game. Four different Pacers recorded a shot in the contest.

North Georgia took eight of the 11 corner kicks in the match.

USC Aiken goalkeeper Alli Edens (Lexington, S.C./College of Charleston) closed out the match with 12 saves.

USC Aiken ends its 2012 season with a 4-11-3 overall record. The Pacers were 3-7-1 in Peach Belt Conference action this season.
