Box Score DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Noel Mais scored in the fourth minute of overtime to lead the University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team to a thrilling come-from-behind 2-1 overtime victory over Peach Belt Conference foe North Georgia at the North Georgia Soccer Stadium.
Down 1-0 with under a minute to play in the game, USC Aiken evened things up in the contest when Jason King (Montego Bay, Jamaica/USC Salkehatchie) scored on a blast from 30 yards out.
The Pacers would then take the victory in their regular-season finale with Mais (Atlanta, Ga./Kingston College) scoring the golden goal in the 94th-minute.
Mark Hanlon (Dublin, Ireland/Blackrock College) assisted both Pacer goals in the match.
Manuel Hernandez scored North Georgia's lone goal of the match in the 31st-minute.
Mais' golden goal helped the Pacers to a 14-13 shot advantage in the contest. The Pacers held a 7-3 advantage in corner kick opportunities in the contest.
USC Aiken closes out the 2012 regular season with a 6-5-4 record. The Pacers were 3-5-1 in Peach Belt Conference action during the regular season.
North Georgia closed its regular season with a record of 7-6-2 (3-4-2 PBC).
Eighth-seeded USC Aiken will next face off against Peach Belt Conference regular-season champion Lander in the first round of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at the Jeff May Complex in Greenwood, S.C.
