Pacers Move Into Top-5 in Latest Golfstat Rankings

AIKEN, S.C. - The University of South Carolina Aiken men's golf team moved up to fifth in the latest Golfstat NCAA Division II Head-to-Head standings.

Golfstat takes into account numerous statistical data and ranks teams based on potential head-to-head competition.

The Pacers are one of three Peach Belt Conference schools in the current top-10. Columbus State is seventh and Armstrong is presently ninth.

Nova Southeastern is currently the nation's No. 1 team.

USC Aiken played in four tournaments during the fall of 2012, but only one was against Division II competition.

The Pacers took top honors at the NCAA Division II Kiawah Island Invitational, which included finishing ahead of six top-25 teams.

USC Aiken is currently in the top-10 in both major polls. In addition to being fifth in the Golfstat Head-to-Head standings, USC Aiken is currently seventh in the latest Golf World/Nike Golf Division II Men's Coaches' Poll.

USC Aiken closed out the fall having finished in the top-5 in two of its four tournaments. The Pacers claimed the team title at the Ninth Annual Kiawah Island Invitational.

The Pacers will begin the spring portion of their 2012-13 campaign by playing in the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate at the par-72 Wexford Plantation Course in Hilton Head Island, S.C. The event hosted by Francis Marion will be played Monday, Feb. 18-Tuesday, Feb. 19.

The Pacers are two-time winners (2006 and 2009) of the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate.
