Pacers Fall to Jaguars on Road

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball team fell 3-0 (26-24, 25-14, 25-20) to Augusta State at the Christenberry Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.  

The Pacers (15-9, 4-4 PBC) have now dropped four straight Peach Belt Conference matches.

Augusta State(12-10, 3-5 PBC) won a close first set, 26-24, before taking the next two sets by scores of 25-14 and 25-20. The Jaguars earned a .184 hitting percentage, while holding USC Aiken to a .045 hitting percentage.

The Pacers held a team block advantage of 9-5 over the Jaguars. No Pacer earned double-digit kills in the loss, but Ashley Diedrich (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips HS) led the team with seven kills.

Two Pacers collected double-digit digs in the match. Samantha Lukralle (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst HS) led the team with 12 digs and Shannon Byers (Morristown, Minn./Faribault HS) corralled 11 digs.

The Augusta State offense was led by Jenna Keeler who earned 11 kills. Keeler was the only player in the match to collect double-digit kills.

The Pacers are next in action at home on Friday, Oct. 26, as they host Montevallo at 7 p.m. USC Aiken won the first matchup with Montevallo on the road, 3-0.
