Lukralle Claims 2,000th Career Dig as Pacers Fall on Road to Armstrong

SAVANNAH, GA. – The University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-18) to Armstrong on the road Saturday afternoon.

During the match, Samantha Lukralle (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst HS) collected a match-high 11 digs to give her exactly 2,000 career digs and add to her program career digs record. Lukralle is only the fourth player in Peach Belt history to record 2,000 or more digs in a career.

The Pacers (15-8, 4-3 PBC) have dropped three straight matches after starting 4-0 in Peach Belt play. Armstrong (19-4, 6-1 PBC) is currently second in the Peach Belt Conference standings.

No Pacer claimed double-digit kills in the match, but Shannon Byers (Morristown, Minn./Fairbault HS)  recorded a team-high eight kills. Sheila Walsh (Fort Mill, S.C./ Nation Ford HS) dished out 20 assists to lead the USC Aiken offense.

USC Aiken held a slight advantage in total team blocks at 4-3. The Pacers finished the match hitting .155, while Armstrong earned a .290 hitting percentage.

USC Aiken is next in action on the road against rival Augusta State on Wednesday, Oct. 17. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
