LILBURN, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken
women's basketball team is ranked 15th in the
latest USA Today/ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll.
USC Aiken is one of three Peach Belt Conference teams ranked
currently with Clayton State the highest ranked PBC squad at No. 2.
Lander also joined the rankings this week at No. 24.
The Pacers were ranked 17th in the preseason USA
Today/ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll. In the first regular
season poll of 2011-12 on Nov. 22, USC Aiken checked in at No. 23.
The Pacers were ranked 21st on Nov. 29. USC Aiken
was ranked 18th in the Dec. 6 poll. In the last
poll of the 2011 portion of the 2011-12 regular season on Dec. 13,
USC Aiken was ranked 16th.
The first poll of 2012 saw the Pacers ranked 14th.
USC Aiken was ranked 13th on Jan. 10 and
11th on Jan. 17.
USC Aiken has been in the top-25 for at least one week in four
of the last five seasons.
The Pacers have now been ranked in 21 straight USA Today/ESPN
Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll.
USC Aiken picked up a 65-42 victory over Georgia Southwestern on
Monday evening at the Convocation Center.
USC Aiken (15-2, 8-1 PBC) has now won 14 of its last 15 games.
The Pacers are a perfect 9-0 at the Convocation Center in the
2011-12 regular season.
USC Aiken will next travel to Montevallo, Ala. for its first
game against former Pacer assistant Cindy Hilbrich and the
Montevallo Falcons. USC Aiken head coach Mike Brandt and the Pacers
will take on his former protégé Hilbrich and the
Falcons at 6:30 p.m. EST on Thursday, Jan. 26.
