AIKEN, S.C. – The nationally 13th-ranked University of South Carolina Aiken women's basketball team rolled to its school record-breaking 12th straight victory in a 62-33 home win over rival Augusta State on Monday evening at the Convocation Center.

USC Aiken's 12th consecutive win snapped the previous school record of 11 straight wins set by the 2001-02 Pacers (Nov. 20, 2001-Jan. 16, 2002).

The emphatic win over the Jaguars on Monday improved the Pacers to 18-0 over the last two seasons when holding their foes to under 50 points. The Pacers have held their last four foes to under 50 points.

USC Aiken (13-1, 6-0 PBC) finished its fifth straight win over Augusta State allowing the Jaguars to shoot just 26.5 percent (13-for-49). The 33 points allowed by the Pacers was a season low for Augusta State.

USC Aiken in turn hit upon 47.4 percent (27-for-57) of its field goal attempts as a team in the game.

Kayla Harris (Raleigh, N.C./Wakefield) was the only Pacer to finish in double figures with the sophomore forward ending her efforts with her third 20 or more point effort of the season with 21 points. She also had seven rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Brittany Hill (Mechanicsville, Va./Quinnipiac) did not finish in double figures, but she did manage to fill up the stat sheet quite efficiently with seven points, seven assists, two rebounds, one block and one steal.

Tiffani Moody (Raleigh, N.C./Ohio Valley) ended USC Aiken's win over Augusta State with three blocks. She also had five rebounds and three assists.

Overall, the balanced Pacer victory ended with 10 USC Aiken players scoring.

No Jaguar scored in double figures in the game.

USC Aiken was only tested in the opening minutes of the win over Augusta State (7-8, 2-5 PBC). The Jaguars held an 8-6 lead with 15:23 remaining in the first half, but USC Aiken closed the first half on a 25-9 run to take a 31-17 lead into intermission.

The Pacers would outscore Augusta State, 31-16, in the second half en route to the 29-point victory.

USC Aiken will next travel to Pembroke, N.C. for a Peach Belt Conference game with UNC Pembroke on Wednesday, Jan. 18. Tip-off in the Peach Belt Conference East Division game is set for 5:30 p.m.
