Pacers Remain Perfect in 2011 in 2-0 Home Victory Over Brevard

AIKEN, S.C. – First-time goalscorers Jameela Bryant and Kim Beyer led USC Aiken to its third straight victory in a 2-0 non-conference win over Brevard on Wednesday evening at the "Pacer Pit."

USC Aiken at 3-0 continues its best start since 2005. The Pacers also began that season at 3-0.

Bryant (Evans, Ga./Evans) netted the first goal of the game in the 22nd-minute when she beat Brevard goalkeeper Crissy Moran one-on-one. Bryant calmly placed the ball into the lower left corner on the breakaway for the first goal of her career.

USC Aiken acquired its second goal of the match in the 74th-minute when Beyer (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) blasted a shot in from 25 yards out.

In total, USC Aiken outshot Brevard, 12-11, in the match. USC Aiken owned a slight 2-1 advantage in corner kick opportunities.

USC Aiken netminder Alli Edens (Lexington, S.C./College of Charleston) claimed the clean sheet between the pipes for USC Aiken. The reigning Peach Belt Conference Goalkeeper of the Week finished the match with seven saves.

USC Aiken will next open Peach Belt Conference play against North Georgia at the "Pacer Pit" on Saturday, Sept. 10. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
