Box Score AIKEN, S.C. – On a rain-soaked evening at the "Pacer Pit,"
the University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team had its
home opener spoiled in a 4-0 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic.
It was the first ever meeting between the two programs.
Four different players scored for the visiting Sailfish with
Kenny Hogg and Kevin Ireland leading the way with each capturing a
goal and an assist.
Overall, Palm Beach Atlantic (2-0) finished the match with nine
more shots than the Pacers at 21-12. The Sailfish owned a 9-4
advantage in corner kick attempts.
The Tornados of Brevard will next visit
USC Aiken (1-2) for the first time for a 7:30 p.m. game on
Wednesday, Sept. 7.
The Pacers' three-match homestand will
then finish on Saturday, Sept. 10 with USC Aiken commencing Peach
Belt Conference action against North Georgia. Kickoff is slated for
7:30 p.m.
