Box Score WINGATE, N.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken
Women's Soccer team fell 3-0 to Wingate in non-conference action on
Monday evening at the Wingate Soccer Facility.
Wingate (4-2) netted the first goal of the match just over a
half hour into the game when Chandler Murphy scored on a rebound.
The goal at the 31:29 mark of the match was the second of the year
for Murphy.
Wingate extended its lead to 2-0 in the 41st-minute
when Chelsey Horan headed the soccer ball into the back of the
net.
A few minutes later in the 44th-minute, Wingate would
score its third and final goal of the match when Hannah Holsclaw
headed in an assist from Izabella Miranda.
Wingate owned a 25-2 shot advantage in the match. The
Bulldogs concluded the match having taken five corner kicks, while
the Pacers had two corner kick opportunities.
USC Aiken (3-3) next returns home on Thursday, Sept. 22 to
welcome first-time opponent USC Beaufort to the "Pacer Pit."
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
