AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken golfer Kyle
Godsman was named the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken
Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Sept. 18,
2011.
Named the Peach Belt Conference Men's Golfer of the Week
earlier this week, Godsman (Moray, Scotland/Lossiemouth) concluded
the Springhill Suites Intercollegiate earlier this week in a tie
for second place with Charleston Southern's David Denlinger.
The two finished with a 7-under score of 209.
By virtue of finishing in a tie for second, Godsman (70-68-71)
claimed his first top five finish as a Pacer in the event.
Godsman's 68 in the second round of the Springhill Suites
Intercollegiate is currently tied for the lowest round this year in
the Peach Belt Conference. Godsman's 69.7 stroke average
presently leads the Peach Belt Conference.
The 18th-ranked USC Aiken Golf team finished the
Springhill Suites Intercollegiate in a tie for second with Samford.
The Pacers posted a three-round team tally of 4-under 860
(288-288-284) to finish second at the event that featured 13 NCAA
Division I teams and two Peach Belt Conference schools.
The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic
Department Student-Athlete of the Week award honors one
student-athlete each week from an in-season sport in 2011-12 for
their hard work and effort.
