USC Aiken Drops First Match of 2011 Season

AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken Women's Soccer team dropped its first match of the season to North Georgia, 5-0, on Saturday, Sept. 10 at the "Pacer Pit."

The loss ends USC Aiken's season-opening three-match winning streak. The Pacers at 3-0 entering the match were off to their best start since 2005.

Five different players scored for North Georgia (4-0, 1-0 PBC) in the match with Emily Dover leading the way for the Saints with a goal and an assist.

North Georgia finished the match with a 24-2 shot advantage. North Georgia had six corner kicks in the match.

USC Aiken (3-1, 0-1 PBC) will next try to win its seventh straight match against Anderson at 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12 in Anderson, S.C.
