Cox and USC Aiken Volleyball Release 2011 Schedule

2011 USC Aiken Volleyball Schedule

2011 USC Aiken Volleyball Invitational (Sept. 9-10)

AIKEN, S.C. – Fourth-year head coach Glenn Cox released the 2011 University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball schedule on Wednesday, May 25, 2011.

The 2011 USC Aiken volleyball schedule features the Pacers participating in four regular season tournaments along with the Pacers playing a full Peach Belt Conference schedule.

The Pacers will host the annual USC Aiken Volleyball Invitational at the Convocation Center on Friday, Sept. 9 and Saturday, Sept. 10. The tournament will feature 12 of the best volleyball teams in NCAA Division II in USC Aiken, Augusta State, Armstrong Atlantic State, Flagler, Anderson, Newberry, Pfeiffer, Wheeling Jesuit, Lynn, Coker, Florida Tech and Barton.

Cox is eager to get the 2011 season underway after a 2010 season that featured the Pacers advancing to the Peach Belt Conference Tournament semifinals.

“The anticipation for what this fall will bring for Pacer Volleyball has me counting down the days,” remarked Cox. “With the loss of only one senior this past season and the addition of four legit incoming players to an already strong returning roster, I feel that this team is fully prepared to take on this ultra-competitive schedule. With the strength of our region opponents, plus the Peach Belt Conference grind, we will have the opportunity to be one of the top teams in the region and be well prepared to make a run at a Peach Belt Conference championship.”

The Pacers will open the 2011 season by participating in the first of two regular season tournaments at Armstrong Atlantic State in Savannah, Ga. The Pacers will have four matches in the event that will take place on Friday, Sept. 2 and Saturday, Sept. 3.
