AIKEN, S.C. – It was not quite as resounding as the first time around, but the University of South Carolina Aiken baseball team (28-20) acquired the season-sweep of the Young Harris Mountain Lions (28-22) with a 5-0 win Monday evening at Roberto Hernandez Stadium.

The Pacers out-hit the Mountain Lions 7-6 with Teddy Leverett (Evans, Ga./Truett-McConnell) leading the Pacers at the plate from his leadoff position with a perfect 4-for-4 performance. He also had two RBIs and a run scored in the mid-week contest.

Five different Pacers scored in the four innings that USC Aiken mustered at least one run.

USC Aiken's only inning featuring multiple runs scored was the bottom of the fifth when Bourdo recorded his second RBI of the day by sending a blooper just over the third baseman's head to score Tripp Warrick (North Augusta, S.C./North Augusta) from second. Bourdo eventually rounded the bases to score as well to set the score at the final 5-0.

Taylor Peed (St. Leonard, Md./Calvert) recorded the win on the mound for USC Aiken after dealing out three strikeouts to improve to a perfect 2-0 for 2011. Joe Tart (Charlotte, N.C./Marion Military College) and Taylor Grover (North Augusta, S.C./Midland Valley) combined in the final two innings to strike out five of the last six batters they faced with Grover recording the final three outs on strikeouts.

Josh Rudnik pitched four innings en route to recording the loss for Young Harris to fall to an even 4-4 for the year.

USC Aiken will close out their regular season with a two-game set against the Flying Fleet of Erskine. The Pacers and Flying Fleet will first renew their rivalry on Friday, April 29 with a 7 p.m. night game before playing a 2 p.m. season finale on Saturday, April 30. The game on Saturday will serve as the Pacers' senior day.
