LILBURN, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken
women's basketball team moved back into the top 20 this week
to 18th in the latest USA Today/ESPN Division II Top 25
Coaches' Poll.
The Pacers were ranked 17th in the preseason USA
Today/ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll. In the first regular
season poll of the 2011-12 on Nov. 22, USC Aiken checked in at No.
23. The Pacers were ranked 21st on Nov. 29.
USC Aiken (5-1) is one of two Peach Belt Conference teams ranked
in the top 25. Clayton State is the highest ranked PBC school at
No. 6.
The Pacers enter their next game having won their last four
outings. In their only game last week, USC Aiken easily dispatched
of Limestone, 92-68, on Thursday, Dec. 1 at the Convocation
Center.
USC Aiken has been in the Top-25 for at least one week in four
of the last five seasons.
The Pacers were ranked as high as eighth nationally and finished
the year ranked a program-best 13th in the final poll of the
2010-11 season. The Pacers would close the year by being
ranked in the final 12 polls of the 2011-12 season.
USC Aiken has now been ranked in 16 straight USA Today/ESPN
Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll.
The Pacers are spending the majority of this week focusing on
exams. USC Aiken will next open Peach Belt Conference play against
Flagler at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10.
