AIKEN S.C.- The 2011 Southeastern Tool-Don Cheeks-Dr. John Riley
USC Aiken Pre-Holiday Classic All-Tournament Team was announced
shortly after the conclusion of the final game on Saturday in the
Convocation Center.
The six-member team (including Most Valuable Player) featured
two players from the host school of USC Aiken as well as two
players from Lenoir-Rhyne. One member from Elizabeth City State and
Virginia Union also made an appearance on the team.
The members of the team were each presented with a plaque by
tournament sponsors Dr. John Riley, Don Cheeks, Annie Reagan, Sarah
Riley and USC Aiken Athletic Director Randy Warrick.
USC Aiken's Maurice Hubbard (Centreville,Va./Ball State)
collected 15 points and 11 rebounds in Pacer games during the
event. He also had four blocks in the tournament, including three
crucial blocks in USC Aiken's come-from-behind victory over
Elizabeth City State on Friday, Dec. 16.
Teammate Re'mon Nelson (Columbus, Ohio/Canal Winchester)
collected 29 points and was named the tournament Most Valuable
Player after leading the Pacers to a 2-0 record over the two-day
tournament. He hit the game-winning shot in USC Aiken's 67-65
win over Elizabeth City State on Friday, Dec. 16.
