Box Score GREENWOOD, S.C. – The regionally 10th-ranked
University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball team claimed its
third straight victory in a 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-22) Peach Belt
Conference road win over Lander at Horne Arena on Wednesday
evening.
The dominating victory on Wednesday means that since the start
of October the surging Pacers have now won nine of their last 12
matches. USC Aiken (15-13, 7-5 PBC) has won seven of its last eight
matches.
Shannon
Byers (Morristown, Minn./Faribault) led the Pacers in their win
over Lander on Wednesday evening, ending the match with a
match-high nine kills to go along with 16 digs. She also had two
service aces.
Samantha
Lukralle (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) concluded her evening
with a match-high 20 digs, while Ashley Farwell
(Wake Forest, N.C./Wake Forest-Rolesville) paced the USC Aiken
attack in the match with 20 assists.
USC Aiken's Endea
Ellison (Orange Park, Fla./Episcopal) concluded the match with
a match-high five blocks.
Magi Nottingham was the top performer for Lander in its loss
with eight kills and nine digs. Madison Kubal collected 16 digs in
the match.
Overall, USC Aiken concluded the match hitting .168 as a team.
Lander (13-15, 3-9 PBC) hit .103 in the match as a squad. The
Pacers held a 9-4 total team block advantage.
USC Aiken will next travel to St. Augustine, Fla. for a 7 p.m.
match against Flagler on Friday, Nov. 4.
The Pacers will conclude their 2011 regular season in Savannah,
Ga. against national No. 15 Armstrong Atlantic State on Saturday,
Nov. 5. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
