Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The eighth-seeded University of South
Carolina Aiken men's soccer team concluded its 2011 season with a
4-0 loss to top-seeded Flagler in the first round of the Peach Belt
Conference Men's Soccer Championship at Saints Field.
Neither team was able to find a goal in the first half of
action.
The nationally 19th-ranked Saints broke through just
minutes into the second half when Eammon Murphy scored his fourth
goal of the season.
Flagler (13-3-2) scored its second goal of the match in the
75th-minute when Pol Berenguer scored off a through ball
from Zach Shanahan.
The Saints would add another goal in the 84th-minute
when Mack Hough scored his 10th goal of the 2011
season.
Flagler's final goal of the match came in the
90th-minute when Marco Padilla scored off a loose ball
in the 18-yard box.
Flagler owned a 21-7 shot advantage in the match. The Saints
held a slight 7-6 advantage in corner kick opportunities.
USC Aiken concludes its 2011 season with a 3-10-4 record.
