AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken men's
soccer goalkeeper Robert Bolender was named the South Carolina
Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of
the Week on Oct. 9, 2011.
Bolender (Kennesaw, Ga./Reinhardt) helped lead USC Aiken to a
1-0-1 record last week.
The Pacer netminder played all 110 minutes in USC Aiken's
1-1 double overtime tie with Peach Belt Conference rival UNC
Pembroke on Wednesday, Oct. 5. Bolender gave up the one goal, but
saved 13 Brave shots to preserve the positive result for the
Pacers.
Bolender logged all 90 minutes between the pipes to acquire the
clean sheet in USC Aiken's 1-0 victory over Georgia
Southwestern on Saturday, Oct. 8. Bolender faced 10 shots in the
Georgia Southwestern match, making one save.
