Box Score AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken head
volleyball coach Glenn Cox acquired his 200th career
victory in USC Aiken's dominating 3-0 (25-15, 26-24, 25-23) win
over UNC Pembroke on Friday evening at the Convocation Center.
Cox is now 200-144 in 10 years as a head coach. He is 59-62 in
four seasons (2008-pres.) as the head coach of the Pacers. He owned
a 141-82 record in six seasons (2002-07) as head coach at the
Savannah College of Art and Design.
USC Aiken (13-13, 5-5 PBC) opened the win over UNC Pembroke
(11-15, 3-7 PBC) emphatically, hitting .314 en route to a
dominating 25-15 victory. The Braves kept things tight in the
second set, but USC Aiken would eventually hold on for a 26-24
victory.
The third set was once again fairly close, but the Pacers hit
.229 in the set to eventually overpower UNC Pembroke in a
match-sealing 25-23 win.
The Pacers hit .168 as a team in the match. UNC Pembroke
concluded the match hitting .069.
Hannah
Tierney (Winchester, Va./James Wood) was the only Pacer with
double-digit kills in the match with a match-high tying 10. She
also had a team-best four blocks. Tierney hit .409 in the
match.
Three Pacers recorded double-digit digs with Samantha
Lukralle (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) leading the way with a
match-high 18.
Shannon Byers (Morristown, Minn./Faribault) just missed on
another double-double in the match, ending things on the evening
with 13 digs and six kills.

Patten (Boulder, Colo. /Mercer) collected 11 digs in the match,
while Ashley
Farwell (Wake Forest, N.C./Wake Forest-Rolesville) led the
Pacers with 18 assists.
UNC Pembroke's Rebecca Morgan tied Tierney for match-high honors
with 10 kills. Marissa Baker had a team-best 17 digs, while Ashlyn
Rebok ended her evening with 28 assists.
The Pacers will close their 2011 home schedule at 2 p.m. on
Saturday, Oct. 29 with a match against Francis Marion. USC Aiken's
final home match of the year will serve as Senior Day.
