Box Score MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team narrowly fell 1-0 to Montevallo in Peach Belt Conference action at Varsity Field on Sunday afternoon.
Montevallo (3-7, 1-3 PBC) scored the lone goal of the match in the 16th-minute when Veronica Stookey poked a through ball from Nicola Stolworthy into the back of the net.
USC Aiken (3-5, 0-3 PBC) would threaten to equalize the rest of the match, but in the end the Pacers would be unable to strike in the narrow one-goal loss.
Montevallo owned a slight 17-14 shot advantage in the match. The Falcons also owned a narrow 5-3 advantage in corner kick opportunities.
The Pacers will next travel to Pembroke, N.C. to face off against UNC Pembroke on Wednesday, Oct. 5. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m.
