AIKEN, S.C. – Former University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball standout Jeremy Fears signed a professional contract with PBG Poznan in Poland earlier this week.

This is Fears' fourth professional contract in Europe. In 2008-09, Fears played with the Kapfenberg Bulls of the Austrian Bundesliga A Division. He was the top player for Kapfenberg last year, averaging 18.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.0 steals per game in the Austrian First Division.

Fears played for two leagues in Europe last season, starting with DEKE of the Hungarian A Division before signing with a professional team in Slovakia. Fears averaged 23 points per game during his short stint in Hungary. He placed nearly 22 points per game on the board during his time in Slovakia.

In his only season at USC Aiken in the 2007-08 season, Fears averaged 17.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game in helping the Pacers to a Peach Belt Conference championship and a trip to the NCAA Division II Tournament. The 6-foot-5 Chicago, Ill., native played in 27 games, starting 19. He was named First-Team All-Region and All-Conference.

Fears is one of five former Pacers currently playing professional basketball.
