EATONTON, Ga. – The 20th-ranked University of
South Carolina Aiken men's golf team finished in
14th place at the 2010 Bobcat Invitational hosted by
Georgia College & State University.
The 54-hole competition was held on the par-70 Cuscowilla on
Lake Oconee Golf Course in Eatonton, Ga.
Kevin Grady (Woodbine, Ma./Century) led USC Aiken individually
finishing tied for 24th with a three-round total of 224.
The Pacers opened the Bobcat Invitational with a first-round 307
and improved by four strokes in the second round to finish with a
three day total of 610, good for 14th.
USC Aiken fell slightly off pace in the third and final round of
the tournament to close with a final round 306, maintaining their
spot in 14th place to finish with a team total of 916.
Gaines Milliner (Aiken, S.C./Aiken) bounced back from an opening
round 80 to rattle off a second round 74, followed by a final round
76 to finish tied for 54th with a three-day total of
230.
Peter Tarver Jones of Belmont Abbey led end-to-end to finish
with medalist honors at the Bobcat Invitational with a three-round
total of 214.
The nationally-ranked Pacers will next compete in the Linger
Longer Invitational jointly hosted by Kennesaw State University and
Mercer University.
The Landing Course at Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia
will once again host the thre-day tournament which will run from
March 26-March 28.
The University of Georgia Bulldogs are the defending champions
of the Linger Longer Invitational.
