Box Score MARIETTA, Ga. – The seventh-ranked University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball team never trailed in a dominating 93-75 road victory over NAIA 21st-ranked Life University on Saturday afternoon at the Eagles Nest.
The victory keeps the Pacers a perfect 4-0 on the 2010-11 season. Life with the loss to the Pacers drops to 5-5 on the year.
USC Aiken opened the game on a 12-0 run and they never looked back before collecting the 18-point victory.
Five Pacers finished in double figures with Byron Faison (Sumter, S.C./Crestwood) leading the way with 23 points. Faison hit five three-pointers in the game. He was 8-for-9 from the floor, including 5-of-6 from beyond the arc.
Dajuwan Carter (Rocky Ford, Ga./Aiken Tech) acquired his best contest in a Pacer uniform in Saturday's victory by collecting 15 points. All 15 of his points came from three-point range where he was 5-of-6 on the afternoon.
Alvin Brown (Fort Washington, Md./James Madison) was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field en route to 13 total points, while Kenny Manigault (Summerville, S.C./Wichita State) ended his day with 11 points. Brown also had four blocks.
Kevin Willis was the final Pacer in double figures with 12 points. He was 6-for-7 from the field.
Re'mon Nelson (C anal Winchester, Ohio/Canal Winchester) did not score in the contest, but he was able to dish out eight assists.
As a team, USC Aiken finished with 27 assists. The Pacers also had eight blocks.
USC Aiken shot 66.7 percent (36-for-54) from the field in the game. In turn, the Pacer defense held Life to just 36.5 percent (27-for-74) from the field.
PJ Meyers was the top scorer for Life with 21 points. Nine of his points came from the charity stripe.
USC Aiken will open up Peach Belt Conference play next at home on Wednesday, Dec. 1 against Francis Marion. The game is the second game of a men's and women's basketball doubleheader at the Convocation Center with the USC Aiken women scheduled to take on the Francis Marion women at 5:30 p.m.
