2010 CoSIDA/ESPN All-Academic District Teams
AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken
men's soccer student-athlete Chijioke Agbasi has been
selected to the 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN All-Academic District III College
Division Men's Soccer Team on Tuesday, Nov. 2.
The 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District Men's Soccer teams
were released today by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors
of America.
A junior defender, Agbasi (Lagos, Nigeria/St. Gregory's College)
currently owns a 3.87 grade point average as a Math and Computer
Sciences major.
He is now a two-time academic all-district selection as he along
with teammate Svetlin Penchev (Sopot, Bulgaria/PGM Vladiuk Zalinov)
were both tabbed to the 2009 CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District III
Men's Soccer Second Team.
Agbasi has played in four matches this season for the Pacers. He
played in 15 matches for the Pacers in 2009 as a sophomore. He had
one goal on the 2009 season as he netted the final tally of USC
Aiken's 4-0 win over St. Andrews. The goal was the first of his
career. Agbasi made six appearances as a freshman in 2008.
Agbasi and the eighth-seeded Pacers will square off against top
seed and current national No. 6 Clayton State in the first round of
the Peach Belt Conference Men's Soccer Tournament at 7 p.m.
tonight (Tuesday) at Laker Field in Morrow, Ga.
The Lakers earned a narrow 1-0 victory over USC Aiken in their
meeting during the regular season at Laker Field. Clayton State
netted the lone tally of the match in the 67th-minute
off the boot of Arturo Cruz, who put in a Leighton Fredericks pass
for the eventual game-winning goal.
The Pacers concluded the regular season with an overall record
of 2-10-2. USC Aiken ended its regular season with a 1-6-1 record
in league action.
