Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's basketball team dropped their non-conference road game 74-55 to fellow Peach Belt Conference school Georgia College Wednesday night at Centennial Center.
The loss to the Bobcats moves the Pacers to 2-1 for the young season while Georgia College improves to 2-0.
The Pacers kept the game close in the opening half, heading into intermission just nine points behind the Bobcats at 29-20, but the Pacers were unable to gain any ground over the final half of regulation as Georgia College outscored USC Aiken 45-35 in the second half.
USC Aiken was able to improve their shooting in the second half hitting on 40 percent (11-27) of their shots to raise their game percentage to 32.8 (19-58).
USC Aiken had two players obtain double-digit points in the game as junior Hannah DeGraffinreed (Raleigh, N.C./Merrimack) led the Pacer charge with 12 points to go along with four rebounds.
Kayla Harris (Raleigh, N.C./Wakefield) was close behind with 11 points and four boards of her own while Daniela Tarailo (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) registered seven points and six boards.
Georgia College had five players tally double-digit points as Chimere Jordan led the Bobcats with 19 total points and a team-high tying seven rebounds.
As a team, the Bobcats connected on 47.3 percent (26-55) of the shots while hitting 80 percent (16-20) of their free throws.
USC Aiken will next travel to Gaffney, S.C. where they will challenge the Saints of Limestone in non-conference action on Saturday, Nov. 20. The game is slated to tip-off at 2 p.m.
