Pacers Drop Physical Match to Nationally-Ranked Falcons

Box Score

AIKEN, S.C. – The second-ranked Falcons of the University of Montevallo proved to be too much for the University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team as the Falcons claimed the 2-0 win in Peach Belt Conference action Saturday night at "Pacer Pit."

The Pacers now find themselves at 1-7-2 overall and are now 0-3-1 in PBC action while Montevallo is now 10-1-1 overall and 4-1-1 in league play.

The Falcons broke through the Pacers' defense in the first half to take the early lead as Milan Pualic quickly dumped a ball to Austin McIntosh who sent the ball just past the USC Aiken net minder to go up 1-0 in the 19th minute.

The Pacers were able to hold the nationally-ranked Falcons to just one goal for much of the match before Pualic found the back of the net late in the second half to put the game out of reach for the Pacers and give Montevallo the padding they needed to claim the win 2-0.

The Falcons controlled the game by out shooting USC Aiken 19-11 and had seven more corer kicks than the Pacers at 9-2.

USC Aiken will next welcome the Bearcats of in PBC rival Lander to "Pacer Pit" on Wednesday, Oct. 13. The PBC tilt on the pitch will begin at approximately 7 p.m.
