Farrell Crowned Miss USCA 2010

AIKEN, S.C. – USC Aiken cheerleader Caryn Farrell was named Miss USCA 2010 recently.

A sophomore business major, Farrell received the crown from fellow cheerleader and Miss USCA 2009 Gabrielle Davis.

"All of the contestants had a great time and great smiles and I just want to be a good role model for USCA" said Farrell.

The sash for Miss Congeniality was presented to Jillian Gaymon, a sophomore communications major and first runner-up was awarded to Alesha Jones, a junior communications major.

The theme for this event was "Arabian Nights."

The pageant opened with a dance from all of the contestants, which allowed them to present themselves to the audience and judges.

Then there was an introduction of the mister and mistress of the ceremony, Dimetrius Wilson and Kimberly Fann. Following their introductions, there was an Express Yourself category that began the pageant competition.

The contestants took the stage with individual talents including monologues, dance and a painting.

The audience was entertained by, Marcus James Hardy, Ashley Gary and Demetria Bannister. Hardy and Banniester sang and Gary did a praise dance.

To close the competition, contestants returned to the stage for the formal wear and onstage question.

Davis did her final walk and the winners were announced.
