COLUMBUS, Ga. - The USC Aiken women's soccer team fell 5-0 to fifth-ranked Columbus State in Peach Belt Conference action on Saturday afternoon at the Walden Complex.

The match between the two PBC foes was part of the Columbus State women's soccer team "Kick for the Cure" contest. CSU sported white uniforms with pink trim, while USC Aiken wore pink uniforms in the match. The Peach Belt Conference provided pink soccer balls for the contest.

The "Kick for the Cure" Game helped raise money and awareness of breast cancer in support of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Rather than charging admission to the event, fans were asked to make a donation to the dedicated organization as they entered the gate. Free literature on breast cancer awareness was also given out during the event.

The loss by USC Aiken on Saturday dropped them to 2-5 overall, including 0-2 in the PBC. Columbus State is now a perfect 2-0 in league play and 7-0-1 overall.

Columbus State finished the match with 26 total shots, forcing Pacer goalkeeper Nicole Westphal (Springfield, Va./Paul VI Catholic) to make 11 saves in the match. USC Aiken took three shots in the match with three Pacers recording a shot each.

Columbus State held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Melinda Bush led the Columbus State offensive attack in the match, securing two of Columbus State's five goals in its win.
