AIKEN, S.C. – USC Aiken's John Sherrer was named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 Baseball College Division Team recently. Sherrer was a second team selection in District 3.

Sherrer graduated from USC Aiken with a degree in Business Administration earlier this month. He finished his time in the classroom at USC Aiken with a 3.586 grade point average.

The primary catcher for the nationally ranked Pacers in 2009, Sherrer ended his final season in a Pacer uniform with a .357 batting average. He collected 55 hits in total for the Pacers in 2009.

The LaGrange, Ga. native finished the year with 13 extra-base hits, which included 10 doubles. He also obtained a triple and two home runs. In total, Sherrer acquired 43 runs and 31 RBIs. 

In the field, Sherrer had 287 putouts.
