Stage Standings
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Former USC Aiken standout Scott Brown
earned a spot on the Nationwide Tour in 2010 in the final stage of
the PGA Tour's Qualifying School.
Brown concluded the grueling six-round, 108-hole tournament at
the Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach, Fla. with a
four-under-par score of 428.
Brown rebounded from an opening round score of 77 to earn the
spot on the Nationwide Tour next season. Brown followed the 77 with
rounds of 71-68-73-67-72 to claim the spot.
Brown will be a full-time member of the Nationwide Tour for the
first time. This was his first appearance in the final stage of the
PGA Tour's "Q School." A three-time NCAA Division II All-America
selection and a member of all three of USC Aiken's NCAA Division II
National Championship teams, Brown (North Augusta, S.C.) in four
previous appearances had never made it past the second stage prior
to last weekend.
He earned the spot in the final stage of "Q School" by finishing
second in the second stage of the PGA Tour's Qualifying School at
the Callaway Gardens Mountain View Golf Course in Pine Mountain,
Ga. with a four-round score of 270. The final round was on
Saturday, Nov. 21.
Last year playing on the eGolf Professional Tour, Brown finished
first on the money list at $142,362. He finished the year with two
wins. In total between the eGolf and the NGA Hooters Tour, Brown
finished last year with over $152,000 in earnings.
