Box Score HICKORY, N.C. - The 26th-ranked University of South Carolina Aiken women's basketball team overcame a one-time 16-point deficit to take a lead late in the second half, but the 23rd-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne women's basketball team would hit a three-pointer with two seconds left in regulation to earn a 59-57 victory over the Pacers at Shuford Gymnasium on Tuesday evening.

USC Aiken would not let the 2008-09 South Atlantic Conference Regular Season and Tournament champions get too far ahead in the game, cutting the Bear advantage to just seven by halftime.

The Pacers opened the second half by going on a 25-17 run that was punctuated once again by a Sundberg three-pointer. Sundberg's three-pointer came with 6:04 remaining in regulation and it gave USC Aiken its first lead of the contest at 49-48.

Three minutes later the Pacer advantage was three-points at 53-50. Daniela Tarailo (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) hit a jumper with 3:18 left in the game to give the Pacers the slight three-point lead. A couple minutes later after L-R had cut the Pacer lead to one on a Denise Moore lay-up, Tarailo hit another jumper to keep the Pacers on top by three points at 55-52 with just over a minute left.

Thirty seconds later, Moore gave the Bears the lead at 56-55 after two free throws with 38 seconds left in the game.

The score still 56-55 in L-R's favor with 12 seconds left on the game clock and USC Aiken owning possession, Pacer mentor Mike Brandt called a full timeout. The Pacers took advantage of the situation with Deandra Schirmer (Holton, Kan./Cloud County) knocking down two free throws on USC Aiken's next possession to give the Pacers a 57-56 lead with little time left on the clock.

Amber Holt would serve as the hero of the evening for L-R, hitting a three-pointer with two seconds left on the game clock to give the Bears the narrow two-point victory.
