INDIANAPOLIS - The University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball
team moved up one spot in the latest NCAA Division II Volleyball
Southeast Regional Rankings.
The Pacers moved up to third in the latest NCAA Division II
Southeast Regional Ranking. The Pacers were ranked fourth in the
inaugural region rankings released two weeks ago.
Wingate is still the leader in the region. The Bulldogs have
just one loss on the year and are a perfect 27-0 on the year in
region matches.
USC Aiken is the second highest ranked Peach Belt Conference
squad with Flagler ranked one spot higher than the Pacers in
second. Armstrong Atlantic is one spot lower than the Pacers
currently in fourth.
In total, USC Aiken is one of five PBC teams ranked in the
latest southeast region poll with Lander (eighth) and Montevallo
(ninth) both ranked.
The Pacers enter the upcoming week looking to squash their
current four-game skid with two matches against the two teams right
beside them in the latest region rankings.
The Pacers will first take on current league No. 1 Flagler at 7
p.m. Oct. 30 in St. Augustine, Fla. One day later, USC Aiken will
travel up the highway a bit to take on current league No. 2
Armstrong Atlantic State.
USC Aiken after the four losses last week is now 13-13 on the
2009 season overall. USC Aiken is 5-5 in the PBC.
The Pacers are the only team to have beaten Flagler (8-1) in
league play as the Pacers downed the Saints, 3-2, at the
Convocation Center on Friday, Sept. 18. USC Aiken just one day
later was one of just two to down the Pirates of Armstrong Atlantic
(7-2), acquiring a 3-1 win over AASU on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the
Convocation Center.
