AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken women's cross
country runner Jani Linde was selected as the USC Aiken Athletic
Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday, Oct. 12.
Linde becomes the first ever two-time recipient of the USC Aiken
Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week Award. She also won
the award on Monday, Sept. 28 after finishing ninth at the Augusta
State 6K Jaguar Invitational at Blanchard Woods Park in Augusta,
Ga.
This past weekend at the 5K 2009 Asics Classic hosted by
Embry-Riddle, Linde (Columbia, S.C./Dublin Coffman) acquired her
sixth straight top 10 individual finish in the Embry-Riddle event
with a 10th place finish. Linde concluded the Asics
Classic with a time of 21:29.61 to finish 10th.
The USC Aiken Student Athlete of the Week award is a newly
created award. Each week the USC Aiken athletic department is going
to honor one individual from an in-season sport for their hard work
and effort.
