USC Aiken Routs Hurricanes, 7-1

Box Score AMERICUS, Ga.--Emmanuel Maduka and Mamadou Ndoye each tallied two goals while Eugene Eshun-Phillips recorded three assists as the USC Aiken Pacers (4-2-1) pounded the Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern (1-8-0) 7-1 in men's non-conference soccer action on Tuesday evening in Americus, Ga. Seven goals marks the Pacers' biggest offensive output since a 10-0 win over Newberry on September 27, 2002. 

Maduka's two goals and two assists pushed his team leading season totals to seven goals and 16 points. With Ndoye's two goals and four points, he moves past Haroon Salem and Todd Ertel into seventh place on the school's all-time scoring list. 

Ndoye got the Pacers on the board in the 10th minute off a Matt Cawley corner kick to make it 1-0. Cawley notched his first marker of the season in the 19th minute when he beat Hurricane keeper AJ Kooti from 20 yards out. Maduka headed in his first goal of the evening in the 28th minute off a Plamen Peev cross to extend the advantage to 3-0. 

Georgia Southwestern was able to avoid the shutout with Daniel Jean Louis' (1) goal in the 40th minute to set the half time margin at 3-1. 

Peev (1) got his first goal of the season in the 65th minute when he scored from inside the box off an Eshun-Phillips' pass. Ndoye tacked on a rebound goal four minutes later while Matthew Martin (2) and Maduka scored less than two minutes apart in the 76th and 77th minutes to set the final score at 7-1. 

Marcos Rodriguez got the win in net for USC Aiken stopping one shot and allowing just one goal in 75 minutes. Jason Vik did not face a shot in his 15 minutes of action. Kooti made six saves, letting up seven goals in 90 minutes for the Hurricanes. 

USC Aiken held a commanding 26-2 advantage in shots and 9-0 in corner kicks. 

The Pacers will host Cumberland University on Wednesday, September 22 at 7:00 PM at Pacer Pit.
