Box Score AIKEN, S.C.--USC Aiken's women's soccer team lost to 18th ranked Catawba College, 4-0, tonight at "Pacer Pit" on the USCA campus. Burman McKenzie scored the first two of Catawba's (5-0-0) three first period goals and the Lady Pacers (0-3-2) never threatened.

McKenzie's first goal came almost 12 and a half minutes into the game. Kyley Thompson and Jessica Parker assisted on the goal. Just over 13 minutes later McKenzie netted another, her sixth of the season, to give the Lady Indians a 2-0 lead.

Lauren Whiteley's score with less than five minutes remaining before halftime sent USC Aiken to the locker room trailing 3-0.

Catawba out-shot the Lady Pacers 9-2 in the first period and 19-4 for the game. The Lady Indians held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks. McKenzie attempted a game-high six shots, five of which were on goal. Paige Harrington and Stephanie Morey attempted three shots each. Four different players accounted for USCA's four shots.

Harrington's late second period goal set the final score and was assisted by McKenzie, giving her five points in the match.

Kathleen Blake and Cathrine Balentine shared the shutout for Catawba. Blake played the first period in goal, making one save. Balentine played the second half and never faced a shot on goal. Senior Shannon Hobbs played all 90 minutes for USC Aiken, making seven saves and allowing four goals.

The Lady Pacers will open Peach Belt Conference play on Saturday when USC Upstate (formerly USC Spartanburg) visits "Pacer Pit" for a 1:00 p.m., match.
