Box Score HICKORY, NC--Two second period goals were enough for Lenoir-Rhyne College to down USC Aiken, 2-0, Tuesday in a women's non-conference soccer match in Hickory, N.C. The Lady Pacers fall to 1-3-0 overall while LRC improves to 5-3-0. USC Aiken will return home to play Brewton Parker College on Wednesday beginning at 5:00 p.m. at "Pacer Pit" on the USCA campus.
Amy Westmoreland broke a scoreless tie in the 62nd minute after taking a cross from Maurisa Machuca and beating USCA goalkeeper
Amber Markley (Lexington, S.C.). Markley finished the night with 10 saves and allowed two goals in 73 minutes of play.
Machuca assisted on Lenoir-Rhyne's second goal as well, this time with a long pass to Riana Lange in the box.
The Lady Pacers mustered just three shots compared to LRC's 20 shots.
Beth Johnston (London, Ontario) got off two shots for USC Aiken. The Bears' goalkeeper Julie Crosby played all 90 minutes in net to earn her fifth shutout of the season. She faced just one shot on goal and came up with the save.
