Box Score AIKEN, S.C.--USC Aiken lost to Francis Marion University, 2-1, tonight in Aiken, S.C. The Patriots held a one goal lead for most of the game, but two goals, one by the Pacers and one by Francis Marion, in the last six minutes, decided the game. The Pacers fell to 6-7-0 on the season and 0-5-0 in the Peach Belt Conference. Francis Marion improved their record to 13-4-0 and 4-1-0 in the PBC.
AJ Ikourou tied the game for the Pacers with a goal in the 84th minute. The senior took a
John Mulroy pass and beat the goalkeeper on the right side. The goal was
Ikourou's fourth of the season.
Just two minutes later, and less than four minutes left in the game, Francis Marion's Dennis Salomon beat Pacer goalkeeper
Peter Calabrese for the game winning goal.
USCA out shot Francis Marion 10-9 and held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks but couldn't capitalize on their opportunities to score.
