Stephen Lawrence's two goals in the second period proved to be the difference as the Pacers improved their record to 6-6-0. The Bears fell to 2-9-1 on the season.
Haroon Saleem put the Pacers out in front, 1-0, with a penalty kick at 21:36 in the first. The goal was
Saleem's sixth of the season and the Pacers would take that one goal lead into the locker room at the half.
LRC's Landon Pruitt tied the game with a goal five minutes into the second period.
Three minutes later
Lawrence took a cross from
Mamadou Ndoye and scored his second goal of the season.
At 71:59,
Lawrence took a pass from
AJ Ikourou and put the Pacers up by two goals with 18 minutes to play. It was
Ikourou's team leading sixth assist of the season.
The Bears would pull within one with a penalty kick past Pacer goalkeeper
Jean-Pascal Bozso with 12 minutes to play.
USC Aiken out shot Lenoir-Rhyne, 12-11 and led in shots on goal, 6-5.
The Pacers get back into Peach Belt Conference action on Wednesday when they host Francis Marion University. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be held at the "Pacer Pit" on the USC Aiken Campus.
