USCA Women’s Soccer Too Much For Mount Olive

Box Score AIKEN, S.C. – The USC Aiken women's soccer team improved to 2-0 at home this season with a 4-1 victory over Mount Olive College. The Lady Pacers were led by freshman forward Kristen Schreiber with two goals and one assist. Sophomore forward Jacqueline Francois also added a pair of goals as the Lady Pacers broke out of a scoring slump which saw them shutout in their last two games.

Francois opened the scoring in the 24th minute when she took a pass from Schreiber and angled it in the left corner from 15 yards out.

The Lady Pacers struck again before half when Schreiber netted an unassisted goal in the 32nd minute.

The second half saw much of the same. It was again Schreiber (Kelly Shemansky assist) and Francois (Lisa Bell) banging home goals to push the bulge to 4-0 over the Trojans. But Trojan forward Jennifer Domino (Charity Pearson assist) erased the shutout. In the 76th minute, Domino took the corner kick from Pearson and put it past reserve goalkeeper Kellie Young.

The win pushes the Lady Pacers' record to 2-3 overall while the loss drops the Trojans to 1-1 on the season.
