Box Score AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team rolled to their third victory in a row on Monday as they cruised past Lees McRae 5-1 in Aiken.
The Lady Pacers (3-0) are off to their best start in the school's history after beginning the women's soccer program last year and only winning one game. They have outscored their first three opponents 13-2.
USC Aiken was led by sophomore
Christy Cousins with three goals with an assist on the afternoon. Cousins now has six goals in three games for the Lady Pacers.
Freshman
Heather Lakatos got the scoring started early in only the second minute of the game (assisted by
Morgan Owens). For the game Lakatos recorded two goals and now has three goals in the past two games. In goal for the Lady Pacers was
Tiffany Thursby (59:00) and
Kellie Young (31:00). Thursby received her first start of the year and did not allow a goal.
USCA outshot Lees McRae 14-12 on the day.
