USCA Men’s Soccer Knocks Off #17 UNC Pembroke

AIKEN, S.C. – The USC Aiken men's soccer team used two late goals by senior Fabio Neves to win 3-2 over #37 UNC Pembroke on Wednesday.

The victory over a nationally ranked opponent is the first under the direction of third year head coach Ike Ofoje.

USCA got on the board in the first six minutes of the game as Curtis Williamson found Richard Wolf breaking and Wolf connected on his third goal in the past two games. UNC Pembroke evened the score in the 33rd minute as Jon Hicks powered it by USCA goalkeeper David Walker. The score remained even as the teams broke for the half.

Just like the first half the Pacers got on the board early as Neves poked the ball by UNCP's goalkeeper Eric Gossett to put USCA up 2-1 (assist by Wolf). Then, with six minutes left in the game Brian Wilson found Neves off a corner kick to put the Pacers up 3-1, which proved to be the game winning goal.

UNC Pembroke made a late rally, scoring with 35 seconds remaining, but USCA held on to claim their first PBAC victory of the season 3-2.
