Lady Pacers Comeback Falls Short 3-2 To Wesleyan College

AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team nearly posted their first victory of the season on Tuesday in a 3-2 loss to Wesleyan College.

The Lady Pacers made a late comeback with 2:28 left in the game as Christy Cousins found Jacqueline Francois for her second goal of the game. This put USCA down by one goal at 3-2.

USCA managed to get one last shot off but Wesleyan's defense was just too tough as the Lady Pacers fell short.

Francois continued her stellar play with two goals scored on the afternoon, but it was the play of Leigh Wallom of Wesleyan who matched Francois with two goals.

In goal for USC Aiken for the first time in her career was Andrea Neira. She recorded one save on the afternoon.

USCA outshot the Pioneers 13-5 on the afternoon.

The Lady pacers will be on the road for the next two games at Lees-McRae on Sunday and at St. Andrews on Oct. 10 before arriving back home against Anderson College on Oct. 14 at 2 p.m.
