AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta State Jaguars scored five second half goals, including three in a span of 1:14 to defeat the USC Aiken Pacers 6-1 at the ASU PE/Athletic Complex Wednesday afternoon.
The Jaguars took the lead as Kevin Moreland scored off a direct kick with just under 12 minutes remaining in the first half. The goal was Moreland's first since 1993.
Just prior to the Moreland goal,
Marlon Glean was red carded, leaving the Pacers a man short. ASU took advantage at the start of the second half as Denny Faircloth sandwiched goals around a goal by Quincy Aberdeen with 1:14 to go to give ASU a safe 4-0 lead.
USC Aiken was outshot 16-11. The Pacers scored when Matt Parrish hit the back corner of the net, beating Brian Wiles.
