AIKEN, S.C. – The USC-Aiken soccer team lost a 3-1 decision Monday afternoon to Carson-Newman.
The Eagles used three goals early in the second half to take the victory.
Eric Mora scored the only goal for the Pacers in the first half on a corner kick assisted by senior
Scott Sipala (4:30).
In the second half the Eagles got on the board with a goal by Juan Martinez (assisted by Daniel Wilkins at 59:55). Then, fifteen minutes later Brant Olivarri connected on a goal off a direct kick to take the lead (Martinez, Aaron Elliot).
Finally, in the last two minutes Elliot found the net on an assist from Matt Christian and German Arguelles.
Carson-Newman outshot the Pacers 22-5. Senior
Jonpaul Figueroa led the Pacers with two shots. USC-Aiken keeper
Dave Joyce finished with 11 saves on the afternoon.
