AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball standout Emily Teelon has been named the Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 8, 2017.
Teelon, a senior setter from Aiken, S.C., guided the Pacers to a 2-0 week by tallying a pair of double-double performances.
In the win over Lander, she posted a match-high 49 assists to go along with 13 digs, five kills and an ace. In the victory over Augusta, Teelon registered a match-best 43 assists to go along with 22 digs, two kills and two aces.
For the week, she averaged 11.5 assists per set and 4.4 digs per frame.
Against the Jaguars, Teelon became the first USC Aiken student-athlete to record 3,000 career assists in the rally scoring era.
The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
